Calculate Panel Absorber

Panel absorber?

How should a panel absorber be designed, and for which frequencies is it suitable?

The effectiveness …

… is located between 100 and 400 Hz. The panel absorber is a box (e.g., 1 x 1 m or larger) with a cover made of thin metal or wood, which closes it airtight. Pine or beech plywood is particularly suitable for the lid. For the calculation, the physical density of the plate is needed. In the hardware store, these values can usually be found in the product description.

Unit of measurement:
Decimal separator:
Frequency (Hz):
Tuning frequency
Valid range: 100 - 400
Plate thickness (mm):
Only in connection with entering the density.

Membrane/plate thickness
Valid range: 0 - 10
Plate/membrane density (kg/m³):
Input 0 = automatic calculation with beech, pine and poplar plywood. The respective density and the calculated result is an approximate average value.

Density of the membrane material
e.g. Beech plywood approx. 750 kg/m³
Valid range: 0 - 2000
